As the name implies. Having people over but the table is too small for large terrain. I’ve looked into the cards but something more physical makes sense. Thank you
I am not sure how cost effective it is anymore, but my friends and I used felt.
You can cut a base layer to size, and other cut out shapes and colors of it will stick naturally. It was great for laying out terrain zones and landmarks, and we’d throw props on shapes to define anything we needed.
You can iron it down and find ways online to make it less fuzzy around the corners.
I like getting some cheap canvas boards from the dollar store and painting them to make a terrain board. Then, I fill them with a few greeblies in terms of terrain: a little xps, a few 3d printed assets, and boom, you’re playing in a full 3d environment with very little table space being taken up. I learned this method from DM Scotty.
look up CrookedStaff Terrain
great make at home ideas and textures are free downloads.
I second this. Crooked Staff has great stuff, and he’s a super nice guy. Way back when, he did a custom Runehammer asset for me, just because he’s awesome. If you are into paper terrain, you can’t beat it.
