Brasslight Horizons Character Creator First Draft

Hello Runehammer community

I want to start by being honest: this post and homebrew were written with the help of ChatGPT. I am a Swiss guy overflowing with ideas but often struggling to put them on paper in proper English.

My group meets once a month to play EZD6 in a Legend of Zelda setting. Recently, one of my players expressed interest in creating his own D20-based adventure. His pitch: the Flat Earth theory is real, the setting is steampunk with One Piece influences, and the world is inhabited by literary characters. Think The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen with steamships on the Grand Line.

I recommended starting with ICRPG as the system. It is my preferred D20 engine—rules-light, easy to hack, and perfect for mixing ideas from other games

I have started helping him build a framework for character creation.
In our own EZD6-Zelda game, I noticed that players never use their abilities. They always describe what they want to do, and I decide whether it works, what the TN is, and whether they roll with Advantage or not. Because of that, we removed special moves and powers entirely. The game flows through description, intent, and ruling—not predefined abilities.

Brasslight Horizons - Character Creator

This early draft does not yet include an XP or milestone system. That is something we still need to work out.

I am posting this to ask: what do you think? What works? What does not? What should be improved? What would you cut or expand? We are looking for honest feedback and critique to shape this into something playable and inspiring.

Thanks in advance for your insights
