What kind of ICRPG characters have you played and what kind of adventures did they have?
Oh wow, great question. I have about a million at this point, but here are a few that stand out.
My first ever ICRPG character was a space cowboy named Cord. He had a blip module and a carbine, and he was perhaps best known for killing a junk titan, sliding down its dead body, and then teleporting to the bottom.
Next, I played Mr. Tate, a sickly pale pirate who garroted his victims with a grimy piece of rigging twine. It turned out, despite Mr. Tate being the most feared pirate in all of Hilk Harbor, Tate was secretly sending a ton of his earnings to a local orphanage.
Next up was Chief Maritok in blood and snow. He forgave the kinsman who tried to murder him, Sumnerok, and then sacrificed himself to save Sumnerok and Maritok’s daughter, so she could become chief. He dropped off a cliff to dislodge two saber tooths that were stalking them.
Still in blood and snow, The Pain was part of the White Elk Tribe that found a hidden warp shell in the ice. The Pain also froze to death, trying to hold back The Freeze so his people could escape. To this day, he stands frozen at the top of the mountain, both arms out wide, like the redeemer statue.
In Vietnam, I played myself, Sgt. Alvarez, on a quest with a special forces unit to find an experimental tank and escape a demon horde called The Hunger.
In Warp Shell, Solara, a corporate merc, went to save the head of Sharpe Industries, Derrick Sharpe, after he went missing aboard the Red Sword. Of course, she didn’t return either.
Slass, a lizard man shaman, was plucked from the frozen sea by an unlikely group of dwarf relatives, The North Watch. Using wild magic (with no offense spells), Slass went on with his friends to help save the world several times.
In cyberpunk, Ted, a muscle-bound enforcer with a small latent psychic ability (who only spoke in Cockney rhyming slang), helped stop Ramses Corp’s CEO from becoming an immortal god.
In 1930s pulp, Reginald Von Syke, expedition financier and The Man Who Has Everything, used his vast wealth to help stop the Russians from getting their hands on experimental alien tech.
In feudal Japan, Kayo Kazuto, renowned iajutsu master and wielder of Red Fang, helped rescue Cloud River Village from the evil of Fu-Lang. In the stuff of legend, he defeated his long time nemesis Obaru without ever drawing his sword.
Faustus, an ordained Knight of the Red Banner with a powerful Warhammer, helped stopped the demon horde from entering the world and destroying the brotherhood.
Golly … and countless others. Suffice it to say, I have been playing and running ICRPG almost continuously since it came out.
Anyone want to send me the marvel movie poster of all those characters? Lol
