Looking for Rules for Travel that would work with the effort rules of ICRPG

Hi Everyone! First post here! I’m running a gonzo game for my group and, due to being swept away to a random location, they now must travel back to the city where there next objective is. I don’t necessarily want to have travel be the whole part of the game. I really enjoy the skill challenge type rules for travel found here but I’m looking to adapt them to use effort or somethin similar. Does anyone have their own rules they like to use for travel? Thank you!
